Building STEM Capital

Speakers Bernie Petitt and Amreen Rahman both speak on counterspace in STEM and the importance of it for minority students to have a place that privileges through fostering a feeling of community and support, respecting the experiences of all people, and battling prejudice. Since racism, misogyny, and repressive academic environments can make it difficult for students to build their STEM identities we need responses that make STEM more accessible.

Taking charge of your Financial Future

This panel event covered subjects like credit building and credit scores, credit cards and debt management, and student loans. It is for those who are just beginning their independent financial futures, covering topics like: obtaining financial guidance and building a relationship with your bank; saving money and making investments; and how to turn a side gig into a profitable one.

Speaker series on Gender-Based Violence: A Richer Love

Through a rich discussion and interactive exercises that unpack topics such as warning signs of unhealthy partnership/relationships; boundary creation with partners, family and friends; patriarchy and misogynoir; manifestations of power and control in intimate relationships, and sexual consent learn from psychotherapist Amma Gyamfowa how to claim a Richer Love for yourself.

Alors que nous reconnaissons leurs contributions continues et leur présence et la nôtre sur cette terre, nous nous engageons à être sensibles à la Commission de vérité et réconciliation et à notre relation avec les peuples autochtones.
