Building STEM Capital

Speakers Bernie Petitt and Amreen Rahman both speak on counterspace in STEM and the importance of it for minority students to have a place that privileges through fostering a feeling of community and support, respecting the experiences of all people, and battling prejudice. Since racism, misogyny, and repressive academic environments can make it difficult for students to build their STEM identities we need responses that make STEM more accessible.
