The goal of the Black Girls Conference is to strengthen Black girls’ pathways to long-term economic security, leadership, and agency by equipping them with the knowledge, critical skills, and confidence to engage with emerging industries—particularly artificial intelligence (AI) - in informed, ethical, and empowered ways. By centering Black girls as future decision-makers, creators, and policy influencers in AI, the conference directly contributes to advancing Black women’s economic security by expanding access to high-growth career pathways and reducing systemic barriers to participation in the technology economy.

The Black Girls Conference is a full-day, youth-centered gathering designed to support Black girls and Black female-identifying youth in critically engaging with the growing role of AI in their lives, communities, and future careers. This year’s theme, Rewriting the Algorithm, positions Black girls not just as consumers of technology, but as leaders who can shape how AI is designed, regulated, and applied across sectors such as education, healthcare, and public policy.

Future Black Female, with head offices in St Catharines, Niagara Region, would like to acknowledge the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today, the home to many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples is home to us too. We acknowledge the sacrifices made, forced and freely, by the Indigenous peoples of Canada in the formation of the country we call our home. As we acknowledge their continued contributions and their presence and ours upon this land, we are committed to being responsive to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and to our relationship with Indigenous peoples.
